PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — On Tuesday, August 8th, URSM Candidate, Ms Sjamira Roseburg, was invited to St Dominic High School to speak to their current Fifth Formers. The topic of her speech incorporated the theme “Preparation For the Real World with International Sights.” Ms. Roseburg commenced by sharing her inspirational journey towards becoming a successful attorney which in turn led to the establishment of her very own law firm “Consider It Solved by Roseburg and Partners.” As an aspiring politician, she also addressed her ambitions to serve the people of St. Maarten as a parliamentarian. Coming from a sound legal background, Ms. Roseburg imparted credible information to the students regarding the upcoming elections and the inner workings of our parliamentary system from a legal standpoint.

Being a firm believer in the importance of education, Ms. Roseburg also used the opportunity to encourage, inspire, and motivate the Class of 2024 graduates as they prepare to embark on the next chapter in their lives. Her motivational speech was mainly about the students remaining focused and thoroughly concentrated on pursuing their dreams, embracing life’s challenges, and the importance of being resilient. She reminded them of her grandmother’s favorite slogan: “Dream, believe, and achieve.” Attorney at Law Roseburg affirmed that once they continue to dream, believe, and achieve, everything is possible.

She then proceeded to offer insight and wisdom regarding overcoming obstacles, setting goals, and remaining consistently motivated. Lastly, she concluded her speech by encouraging the students to remain proactive, steadfast, and vigilant by seizing the opportunities that will inevitably come their way. Since becoming an attorney at law, Ms. Roseburg has always been a staunch supporter of education by means of her “Law 101” video productions, assisting students with school based projects, and advising students who were interested in pursuing law degrees. Ms. Roseburg pledges to continue to inspire our youth because they are the holders of St. Maarten’s future. In closing, she wishes continued success to the St. Dominic High School Fifth Formers and all of St. Maarten’s students for the new school year.
