Suspect arrested in Wendy Montulet’s killing

Gendarmes Captaine Emmanuel Maignan and Prosecutor Samuel Finielz, during a press conference Wednesday afternoon, July 13, explained that they received information from several witnesses on the description of the culprit, which led to his arrest.

 

The suspect apparently had black and blonde hair, and allegedly stabbed and sexually assaulted Wendy Montulet last week.

While conducting investigations, detectives saw the man, who is from French St. Martin, and immediately arrested him. Captaine Maignan would not disclose which community the

suspect is from.

The 22-year-old suspect will be flown to Guadeloupe on Thursday, July 14, on murder and sexual assault charges. Captaine Maignan said the family has been notified of the arrest. He thanked the witnesses for the information leading to the arrest.

Montulet was reported missing after she went jogging on Saturday morning, July 9. Her body was found the next day by Gendarmes’ sniffer dogs in Nettle Bay. She was vacationing with her parents at Flamboyant Hotel.
