Lions Health & Wellness Fair set for March 25

PHILIPSBURG – The 9th annual Lion Rudy Hoeve Health & Wellness Fair is scheduled for Saturday, March 25, at St. Maarten Festival Village with a variety of stakeholders available for the public to do free testing, follow lectures and receive important information all free about their health and wellness.

The general public will be able to do a variety of tests and obtain valuable information from the  AIDS Foundation, WIEMS, Positive Foundation, Sickle Cell Foundation, Alpha Health Care, Enable Holistic Occupational Therapy, Parkinson Foundation, Diabetes Foundation, Natures Discount, YHC Health Department, Vital Health, Mental Health Foundation, Physiotherapists, Alzheimer’s Foundation, Henderson Insurance, ENNIA, Martijn Trading, St. Maarten Medical Center, SZV, Kidney Foundation, Bio Magnetism, I&I Fitness, among others.

A number of lectures will be done by medical professionals in their respective fields. Dr. Emiko Bird-Lake will speak about Hypertension and Stroke, while SZV will discuss Rights and Obligations of ZV insured, and also Requirements and Procedures for Medical reimbursements. Additional information on other lectures will be released in the media next week before the Health & Wellness Fair.

Healthy food and drinks will be on sale and a kiddy’s corner will be set up for parents wishing to bring their children along. According to St. Maarten Lions Club President Davey Woods, “the event is a family affair, as health and wellness awareness is for the young and old alike, and is one of primary focus points for the St. Maarten Lions Club yearly community projects.”

Members of the public are urged to take advantage of this large gathering stakeholders and their free testing and information sessions at the 9th annual Lion Rudy Hoeve Health and Wellness Fair 2017, which is scheduled for Saturday, March 25 from 9:00am to 4:00pm at the Festival Village in Philipsburg.
