Burglary at Post Office

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — The Detective Department is presently investigating a burglary at the Post Office in Philipsburg, which took place over the weekend of Friday, July 8, and Sunday, July 10.

During this burglary, a considerable sum of cash was taken from the establishment. Several offices were also thoroughly searched.

The investigation thus far has shown no signs of breaking and entering. The Forensic Department was on the scene to investigate in which way the suspect(s) gained access into the building.



Attempted armed robbery

PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — The Special Robbery Unit is presently investigating an attempted armed robbery at Paradise Casino on Welfare Road.

The first call came in at the Central Emergency Dispatch at 12:20pm. Detectives were on the scene to investigate, however, details of the attempted robbery were not available during press time.

A subsequent press release will be sent as soon as more details become available.
