Approximately five hours after the break out of fire at government buildings at the Halifax Street / Egmont Street junction in Kingstown, firefighters are still on the scene dousing occasional flare ups from the old treasury building and the building that formerly housed the electoral office, the Ministry of Telecommunications and before that, the Social Welfare Department. Apart from some water damage, the registry department appears in tact at this time.
