Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise pays courtesy call on Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Public Health

PHILIPSBURG – President of Rotary Club St. Martin Sunrise Virginia Asin, members and visiting Rotarians from Suriname, last Friday, April 17, paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Hon. Marcel Gumbs and Acting Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labour Hon. Rita Bourne-Gumbs.

The visit took place at the Government Administration Building in the Dr. A.C. Wathey Legislative Hall.

The delegation was welcomed by the Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Public Health.  Rotary fellows from the District 7030, Rotary Club Paramaribo Central and Rotary Club Paramaribo Residence, were on an official visit related to the presentation of the Rotary Fundus Camera project that took place on Saturday at the White & Yellow Cross.

Asin said she was very appreciative of the Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Public Health having given Rotary fellows the opportunity to meet with them during the working visit to the country.

The courtesy call also included an eye specialist who delivered training to physicians and staff of the White & Yellow Cross Foundation in connection with the Fundus Camera.
