PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten — The St. Maarten Drag Racing Association (SMDRA) announces an upcoming training session for local drag racers as they prepare to represent St. Maarten at the Grenada Internationals, scheduled to take place in Grenada from September 25, 2026 to September 27, 2026. The training session will take place on Soualiga Road on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 10:00 hrs to 14:00 hrs.
For the safety of participants, officials, and the general public, Soualiga Road will be closed to through traffic during the training session. The closure will be in effect from 10:00 hrs to 14:00 hrs, with the exception of emergency vehicles, which will be permitted access as necessary. The St. Maarten Drag Racing Association asks motorists and members of the public to plan their travel accordingly, follow all traffic- control instructions, and exercise patience during the temporary road closure.
This training session is an important part of the Association’s preparations as St. Maarten’s racers get ready to compete at the Grenada Internationals. The SMDRA appreciates the continued support and cooperation of the community as the island’s racers prepare to represent St. Maarten on the international stage.
