Planned traffic check aimed at on helmet use on Sint Eustatius
Sint Eustatius — On Tuesday, the 11th of August, at around 9:00 AM, the police conducted a planned traffic check on Mansionweg on Sint Eustatius. The check specifically focused on the use of helmets. During the check, five drivers received a warning for driving on a public road without wearing a helmet.
All drivers who were checked were also informed about the rules regarding helmet use.
The Caribbean Netherlands Police Force (KPCN) reminds drivers and passengers of scooters and motorcycles to wear a helmet while riding. The police will continue to conduct traffic checks to ensure compliance with traffic regulations.
Scheduled traffic control
Sint Eustatius — In the afternoon hours of Sunday, the 9th of August, a scheduled traffic control was held on DR H.A. Korthalsweg on Sint Eustatius. Officers checked whether drivers had a valid driving license and insurance and whether the motor vehicle tax had been paid.
During this control, nine cars and one scooter were checked and three fines were issued. For driving without insurance, driving with unpaid road tax, and driving without a license plate. Traffic controls will continue.
