SAINT MARTIN – On Saturday, March 11, the 5th edition of La Saint Martinoise, 100% female running and walk race, will be held, which is organized by the Avenir Sportif club of Saint Martin.

Initiated in 2013, this race was a great success with women of the island from the start, and has become one of the expected sports events of the year.

The concept has not changed. Whatever the level, the goal of the Avenir Sportif Club is to celebrate women by encouraging sports, movement, and having fun. This allows women to have fun, while taking up the challenge of completing the 5 km of the course, at their own pace.

The program remains the same: Collective warm-up with Caroline from SXM Fitness at 3:30pm; Individual race – 2 categories with participants less than 40 years old (Misses) and more than 40 years (Ladies); Mother/daughter team race. The principle is that the average of both mother and daughter times is taken, so it is not necessary to run together; and walk.

After a few well-deserved stretches, party with Zumba from 5:00pm, and take part in a big raffle with 20 prizes that can be won. The award ceremony will take place at 6:00pm.

The route will be as follows: Departure Front de Mer (opposite the Mini Club Restaurant) – Roundabout of the cemetery – Roundabout of the Tourist Office of Marigot – Low Town – Bellevue roundabout – Saint James – Agrement roundabout – Galisbay – Maritime station – Waterfront.

A supply of water will be provided in front of Nina Duverly School.

Registration for La Saint Martinoise will be held at the Sportech store in Bellevue on Friday, March 10, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm and Saturday, March 11, from 9:30am to 1:00pm. The participation fee is €10 or US $10, together with a medical certificate that shows the participants are fit for running, which will be required for the runners.
