PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — Social & Health Insurances SZV has welcomed Dr. Ruth Douglass as a new control doctor within the organization. Dr. Ruth Douglass joined the SZV team on January 15, 2019. As a family doctor with her own medical practice on the island, Dr. Douglass brings with her many years of experience. The team at SZV is delighted to have her on board.
If you are ZV insured at SZV, you must visit the control doctor at the SZV on the 3rd day that you are unfit for work due to illness. When you visit the control doctor, he/she evaluates your illness or will recommend a follow-up appointment. Based on your illness, the control doctor determines when you should be able to return to work. This information is important for the sick-pay you receive from your employer.
You do not need to make an appointment at SZV to visit the control doctor. To visit the control doctor you must report to the Medical Desk between 07:30 am – 10:00 am daily from Monday to Friday. SZV clients who are currently patients of Dr. Ruth Douglass can change their family doctors at the SZV starting now until February 28, 2019 using the online form at www.szv.sx. This is for ZV, 60+/62 +, OZR and PP insured patients. If you are are FZOG insured, you do not have to inform SZV of your change of doctor.
