NETTLE BAY – The Yacht Hop boat that was anchored in Marigot Bay and which drifted overnight on March 1-2, to Nettle Bay is getting closer to the shore.
With the strong swell of recent days, the vessel has indeed moved a lot. The chain of its anchor passed over the dyke of rocks protecting the beach and residences.
Several operations were carried out last week to clear it from the sandy bottom where it ran aground, but they were unsuccessful. “According to our sources, the tug Istria should come quickly to pull the boat,” said a statement issued by authorities.
According to the Captain of the boat, who gave a statement to the authorities, his anchor dropped and the rope caught in the propeller.
The boat is flying the English flag.
