GREAT BAY, Sint Maarten (DCOMM) – Ministry of Public Housing, Environment, Spatial Development and Infrastructure (Ministry VROMI), announces that there will be road repairs on Sucker Garden Road which will start on February 13.

The road repairs will be carried out between 7.00am and 4.00pm and will continue until February 24.

The road will be closed for one-way traffic going towards Dutch Quarter.  Closure will take place at the Guana Bay intersection and by the Arch road intersection.

During the aforementioned closure, only heavy equipment will be allowed to use the road going towards Arch road.  Upon their return, they will have to use the Soualiga Boulevard.  Heavy road traffic is defined as: dump trucks delivering material (not Delta/Daihatsu four-ton trucks), loaders, excavators, backhoes, school buses; sewage trucks, trailer trucks, and tour buses (no taxi’s).

All other vehicles will have to use the Walter Nisbeth road/Soualiga Boulevard/Arch road to get back on to the Sucker Garden road heading in the direction of Dutch Quarter.  This will also be the same route to Philipsburg.

The contractor carrying out the works is Windward Roads.

The road will be accessible to emergency vehicles.

Ministry VROMI apologizes for any inconveniences this may cause.
