PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – Police, Forensic and Ambulance personnel were dispatched to the Point Blanche Prison on Wednesday morning for a shooting.
The incident occurred at around 9 am. However, based on information reaching our news department, one person is reported to have been fatally shot.
We have also learnt that the victim is the Main suspect in the “Vesuvius” investigation Omar Jones.
We have a confirmation from the police spokesman, chief inspector Ricardo Henson that the shooting took place but that more information will be forth coming.
Spokesman for the Prosecutors Office Gino Bernadina told our news room that the inmate was shot dead.
