PHILIPSBURG – The SXM Reads campaign, along with the Philipsburg Jubilee Library is bringing to the general public a literacy screening program to read. This is an opportunity to for the public to test their reading skills.

This will take place from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the library on Saturday, June 11.

This literacy screening will be done online, and will take 12 minutes. “Within this short time you will be able to prove to yourself your reading efficiency! Your results will be given to you privately and there are tutors who will assist you regardless of the outcome of the results. Whether you’re a student, editor, secretary, or a store clerk, come be a part of this exercise. Everyone is welcome,” a release from the library stated.

The purpose of this exercise is to have the general public be aware that reading and understanding what is read is essential.
