LPN and RN students host culture day at NIPA

CAY HILL – NIPA was full of delight and cheer as the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) students hosted a culture day representing different islands including, Haiti and Jamaica.

This is the second time the nursing sector has hosted such an event, as a few months back the Registered Nursing (FRN) students also hosted a culture day representing: Jamaica, St. Maarten, Curaçao, Guyana, Haiti and Dominica.

Students did PowerPoint presentations, skits, danced, sang and cooked up a storm for this class assignment. The food was common dishes from the islands, which were being represented. Faculty and some students from other classes including Cook, Hospitality, Maritime and ICT, enjoyed both the performances and dishes, and look forward to other events of such a caliber.

This event was hosted as a part of both programs, emphasizing the importance of understanding different cultures as essential for the nursing profession.
