PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – The President of Parliament Hon. Dr. Lloyd Richardson on Wednesday condemned the attack on a Police Officer while he was carrying out his duty to the community.
The police officer was shot and seriously wounded as he and a colleague were responding to a call of an armed robbery at a jewellery store on Front Street. The officer was shot multiple times.
On Wednesday evening the officer was fighting for his life at the St. Maarten Medical Center where he was operated upon earlier in the afternoon.
“On behalf of the Members of Parliament, we pray for the recovery of this officer of the law. We pray to give his family, friends and colleagues the strength as they go through this difficult period,” President of Parliament Dr. Lloyd Richardson said on Wednesday evening.
