SYNOPSIS:
The Atlantic area of high pressure is the dominant feature, generating dry air which is restricting significant precipitation mostly across the northern Caribbean. However, a weak low level disturbance is expected mainly to the south of the local region, which could may produce brief showers over the island.

STATE OF THE SEA: Slight to Moderate WAVES/SWELLS: 3 to 5 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE:
At 5pm, tropical depression #4 developed into Tropical Storm Danny.

The center of Danny is located at 10.9N 37.5W or about 1817 miles east-south-east of St. Maarten.

It is moving west at 12mph with maximum sustained winds at 40mph.

The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor the progress of this system, as it has the possibility to further strengthen.

OUTLOOK through Thursday evening: Partly cloudy, breezy, and slightly hazy with brief isolated showers possible.
