St. Eustatius — On Wednesday, the 23rd of September, a planned traffic control was held on the Dr H.A. Korthalsweg on Sint Eustatius. During the control, a total of 9 vehicles were checked, resulting in six fines being issued.
The fines were issued for the following violations:
4x for not wearing a seatbelt;
2x for driving without valid insurance.
The Caribbean Netherlands Police Force (KPCN) reminds everyone that, pursuant to Article 82, Paragraph 1, Sub F of the Sint Eustatius Road Traffic Ordinance 2022 (Wegenverkeersverordening Sint Eustatius 2022), both the driver and passengers of a motor vehicle are required to wear a seatbelt. The police will continue to conduct traffic checks to enforce compliance with traffic regulations.
