SINT MAARTEN — As part of its ongoing efforts to promote road safety and ensure compliance with traffic regulations, personnel of the Traffic Department of the Korps Politie Sint Maarten (KPSM) conducted a traffic control on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

The control was carried out on Airport Road, near the intersection with Sister Patientia Road. The operation focused on verifying that motorists were in possession of valid documents required to operate their vehicles on the public road.

During the control, a total of 18 vehicles were checked. Officers issued four traffic fines, while one vehicle was towed due to the absence of valid road tax.

KPSM reminds all motorists that regular traffic controls form part of the police force’s broader road-safety strategy. Motorists are urged to ensure that their vehicles are properly registered and that all required documents are valid before taking to the public road.

KPSM will continue to conduct traffic controls throughout Sint Maarten to promote compliance, prevent traffic violations, and contribute to safer roads for all road users.
