St. Eustatius — This holiday season, seniors across St. Eustatius received a meaningful gift—one shaped over the course of a year. Heritage in the Making is a community-centered creative project by Euxtopia, bringing together seniors, local creatives, and regional collaborators to capture stories and hopes for the island’s future.

Euxtopia convened community creatives Danielle Rivers (community organizer), Fí de Wit (creative writer), and Sabrina Richardson (content specialist), who worked closely with seniors through dialogue and storytelling. Regional collaboration included Curaçao-based digital illustrator Dione-Ariadne Bergland and Trini Inc’s Elton Villarreal, who facilitated hands-on workshops.

Focus sessions held December 6–7 explored themes including culture, education, vitality, banking, and infrastructure, followed by a soft launch on December 10. The resulting stories and artworks were compiled into a printed publication.

Euxtopia’s founder expressed deep gratitude to Fonds voor CultuurparticipatieCultuurfonds Caribisch Gebied, local funders, and Statia Roots Festival for their support.
