PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten (KPSM), The Police Force of Sint-Maarten (KPSM) is currently investigating two robbery incidents that occurred on November 30, 2025. While the incidents are not believed to be directly connected at this time, both cases involved concerning elements that require public awareness.

Incident 1
Just After 12:30 a.m. in the early morning of November 30th 2025  Central police dispatch received several call of a robbery whereby, a business owner was robbed while on his way home in the Madame Estate area. During the confrontation, the suspect stole several keys and other valuables. Notably, the suspect was wearing a polo-style shirt similar to those used by KPSM officers.

KPSM strongly condemns the use of police-type clothing or insignia during criminal acts. In previous years, police have dealt with similar incidents where individuals attempted to use police-like uniforms to commit crimes. KPSM has invested significant effort in addressing such matters due to the serious dangers they pose—not only to the community but also to legitimate officers, whose safety and integrity are compromised.

Incident 2 – Oyster Bay Area
In a separate incident earlier that morning, just after 2:00 a.m., five individuals arrived at a hotel property in the Oyster Bay area in a small white vehicle. Four suspects exited the vehicle and entered the establishment. Once inside, they overpowered staff and stole a safe belonging to the business. The fifth individual remained in the vehicle throughout the robbery. All five suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction with the stolen safe.

Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to identify the suspects.

KPSM is actively investigating both cases. Anyone with information or who observed suspicious activity in the Madame Estate or Oyster Bay areas is urged to contact the Detective Department at +1 721-542-2222 or the anonymous tip line at 9300.
