SINT EUSTATIUS — The Statia Government has taken an important step in strengthening its digital decision-making processes through a series of onboarding sessions held from 13 to 16 April 2026 for its staff.

During these sessions, civil servants from various departments were introduced to the iBabs platform and the updated Nota process, which will support a more structured, transparent, and efficient way of preparing and handling decision-making documents.

The sessions focused on practical use, guiding participants step by step through their roles within the process. Special attention was given to the different responsibilities of users, including authors and reviewers, ensuring that each group understands how to contribute effectively within the digital workflow.

The onboarding was facilitated in close collaboration between the Statia Government’s internal teams, including IT, GIS/Communication, and the Secretariat to the Island Secretary, together with implementation partner SIM Caribbean. This joint approach ensures that both the technical setup and organisational processes are aligned for sustainable adoption.

Throughout the week, participants actively engaged in scenario-based sessions, allowing them to experience real-life use cases and ask questions directly related to their daily work. The feedback gathered during these sessions will be used to further refine the process and support a smooth roll-out in the coming period.

The implementation of iBabs forms part of the broader effort of the Statia Government to modernise its internal processes and improve the efficiency and accessibility of government decision-making.

Follow-up sessions are planned to ensure all users are fully supported in adopting the new way of working.
