WILLEMSTAD – The leadership of the MFK party has announced that Minister Kimberly Lew-Jen-Tai and Minister Plenipotentiary Carlson Manuel have submitted their resignations from public office. The party confirmed that the resignations were handed in today and that procedures have been initiated to fill both positions.

In a written statement, MFK said the party board reviewed the situations involving the two officials, who currently hold public functions. In the case of Minister Lew-Jen-Tai, the party described the matter as a family-related situation. MFK stated that it will not provide further public comment on her resignation, citing respect for her personal circumstances.

Regarding Minister Plenipotentiary Carlson Manuel, the party referred to allegations circulating on social media as well as a motion unanimously adopted by Parliament requesting the General Audit Chamber to conduct an investigation into Curaçao House. According to MFK, the decision to request Manuel’s resignation was taken to ensure transparency and to allow the investigation to proceed without interference.

MFK emphasized that since 2020 the party has changed its internal governance approach, placing transparency, discipline, and respect at the center of its organization. These principles, the party said, are applied rigorously and without exception.

The party leadership stated that it remains committed to equal and fair treatment and that both cases are being handled with seriousness and the necessary discretion.
