PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — The Sint Maarten Baseball-Softball Federation is thrilled to announce the successful election of a new board during its recent election held on October 7th, 2023. This dynamic team is dedicated to ushering in an exciting era for baseball and softball on the beautiful island of Sint Maarten.
The newly elected board members are as follows, President: Mr. Austin Helliger and Vice-President: Natasha Richardson together with their dedicated board, they have laid out an ambitious plan to nurture and expand the popularity of baseball and softball within the Sint Maarten community. The Federation aims to foster a thriving baseball and softball culture, bringing together players, fans, and enthusiasts for an unforgettable experience.
One of the federation’s goals is to make our memberships active with the international baseball federations, which include: Confederación Panamericana de Béisbol (COPABE), Confederación del Caribe de Béisbol (COCABE) and World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC). We are currently a baseball member of all three federations and will be seeking to become a member for softball as well.
By being a member, Sint Maarten’s national teams will have the opportunity to participate in invitational and qualifying tournaments on a global stage, showcasing the island’s talent and passion for the sport.
In an effort to connect with the existing baseball and softball leagues, the federation is hosting a series of meetings at the Erwin Baco Little League Conference Room. These meetings will provide a platform to explain the federation’s comprehensive four-year plan. Meeting Schedule:
Wednesday, November 8: Meeting with all youth leagues from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
Thursday, November 9: Meeting with the Pelican League from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm. Meeting with the softball teams from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm.
