PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — Female staff members at the Secretariat and Faction offices at the House of Parliament each received a token of appreciation from the President of Parliament, Mrs. Sarah Wescot-Williams, on International Women’s Day.

During her brief congratulatory remarks, the Chairlady of Parliament extended words of appreciation to all female Staff members for their dedication and service to Parliament and the Community of Sint Maarten at large.

She also expressed that her desire would have been to provide each female resident of Sint Maarten with a token of appreciation, considering that over the past months, we have all in one way or another felt the effects of the recent circumstances our Country has been faced with; yet despite these challenges, we have all managed to pull through.

It is with this in mind that the Chairlady of Parliament extends “Happy International Women’s Day”, to all women of Sint Maarten, and encourages everyone to continue to “Press for Progress”.
