IRMA is now Hurricane cat # 2
11:00am Thu. 31 Aug. Tropical Update: Irma is now a Cat-2!!!
At 11:00am, #Irma intensified to a Category-2 #Hurricane with winds of 100 mph (155 km/h), and its center was located at 16.9N 33.8W (1800 miles East of St. Maarten).
It is moving generally west @ 10 mph (17 km/h) for the next couple of days…and will most likely strengthen to a major #hurricane by tonight!
According to its projected path, Irma could possibly reach near or just north of the SSS Islands (St. Maarten-Saba-St. Eustatius) by Wednesday — as an Extremely DANGEROUS Hurricane (Cat-3/Cat-4)!!!
