PHILIPSBURG – The Joint Court of Justice on Wednesday, April 12, rejected the request to lift or suspend the provisional arrest of F. Corallo.
The request to transfer him to the sick-bay of the Pointe Blanche prison was also rejected. This means that F. Corallo will remain in detention awaiting his extradition hearing. His lawyers submitted their request to lift or suspend the provision arrest on March 21. The hearing took place April 4.
It was the third request to lift or suspend the provisional arrest that was rejected by the Joint Court of Justice. F. Corallo was arrested on December 13, 2016 on request of Italian authorities and is suspected of tax fraud and money laundering.
