PHILIPSBURG – The University of St. Martin (USM) received an early Christmas gift with the awarding of Jameson Pierre Louis and Parina Lotlikar as the Star Achievers of CIBC First Caribbean International Bank.

The students received their awards during the bank’s annual Christmas dinner party. This is the second consecutive time that Pierre Louis, who is currently enrolled in USM’s Business Management program, has been honored with this award. Lotlikar has also been promoted to the position of Customer Service Officer at the tender age of 19. Both gained a permanent position with the bank in just one year.

Next to their busy work schedule Pierre Louis and Lotlikar are excelling at USM. The life motto for Pierre Louis is: “work hard, dream big and stay humble.” When asked about the secret to her success Lotlikar said, “It is maintaining a positive attitude and aspiring to reach the stars. Age is not a limit.”

President of USM Dr. Francio Guadeloupe stated: “our students are our ambassadors. We are as good as they are. Next to luminaries such as Mr. Ralph Cantave and Ms. Rochana Richardson, who have gained notoriety for their accomplishments on the island, Parina and Jameson represent the hope and future of St. Maarten. The USM is proud of them, and delighted to know that CIBC First Caribbean International Bank is investing in the island’s youth. Business and education cooperating and doing their part to make sure that upward mobility remains a possibility for all St. Maarteners.”

Lotlikar and Pierre Louis promised that in 2017 they will continue to make strides at the bank and at USM.
