Hindu Organization to host Diwali Show on Saturday

2029

BELAIR – St. Maarten Hindu Organization will host its fourth annual Diwali Cultural Evening in Belair Community Centre on Saturday, starting promptly at 7:30pm.

The show, as in previous years, promises to be an evening of song, dance and skits – all the culmination of months of hard work and practice by the littlest to the older members of the organization.

The stage show, which includes two traditional Indian clothing fashion segments, will be followed by a dance. Attendees are encouraged by organizers to come prepared with their dancing shoes and to share their best Bollywood and Chutney moves.

Tickets for the show are available in advance from Sun Insurance in Cole Bay (across from Tropicana Casino) or  by calling Organization President Mahendri Ramrattan on 580-5025 or Sharda Brijkumar on 553-0516.

Advance tickets are US $15 for adult and US $10 for children. At the door, tickets are US $20 for adults and US $15 for children.

Proceeds, including from the silent auction, will be used for the organization anchor project – the building of a temple for worship.

Regular Hindu prayers are held by the Organization on the first and third Sunday of the month, starting at 8:00am, in the Sun Building in Cole Bay.
