Tropical Depression #9 forms…

Tropical Depression #9 formed this morning at 11am in the Central Atlantic. If it  strengthens further,  it will be named Tropical Storm Ida.

Elsewhere in the Atlantic…

The 2nd tropical disturbance in the Atlantic continues to show  signs of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next few days. It has a high (70%) chance in 48 hours and high (80 %) chance in 5 days.

We will continue to monitor the progress of both systems, although they are NOT expected to affect the Caribbean.
