GREAT BAY, Sint Maarten (DCOMM) – The Fire Department is closely monitoring two hillside fires in different locations at Sentry Hill. The fires started Thursday afternoon and are in the hill top area.
Smoke has been moving into the Cole Bay area. Residents who suffer from asthma or other respiratory issues should close their windows.
The Fire Department will closely monitor the fire as it may go over Sentry Hill into the Cole Bay hill side area. High wind gusts have been pushing the flames towards the Cole Bay hill side area.
Fire Department resources will be utilized if necessary along hillside roads in the event the fire slowly comes down the hill towards a residential area.
