BVI Tortola edges host Sint Maarten 85–83 to claim Paradise Showdown U15 title
SINT MAARTEN — The PSA Athletics Association hosted its third annual Paradise Showdown U15 basketball tournament from October 3–7 at the L.B. Scott Sports Auditorium on Sint Maarten. The five-day event featured intense competition and morning sessions, bringing together young basketball talent from across the region.
The tournament culminated in a thrilling championship game between host team Sint Maarten and BVI Tortola, with Tortola securing the title in a narrow 85–83 victory. Anguilla claimed third place with a commanding 77–28 win over St. Eustatius.
The All-Star event featured top players from Anguilla, St. Kitts & Nevis, Aruba, St. Eustatius, and Guyana, who were randomly assigned to two teams: Red and Blue. Team Red emerged victorious with a 52–28 win.
The champions received customized championship rings and first-place trophies, while the second- and third-place teams received medals and their respective trophies. Individual awards also recognized ten outstanding players through First and Second Team selections, alongside the tournament’s overall Most Valuable Player.
