A New Connection Takes Flight at PJIA

SIMPSON BAY, Sint Maarten (PJIA) – On Monday, October 5, 2026, Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) celebrated the inauguration of a new nonstop service between St. Maarten and St. Thomas, operated by Contour Airlines.

With a flight time of about 55 minutes, the route brings the neighboring islands closer together, with convenient flights twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.

Contour’s regional jets are configured for 30 passengers, with no middle seats, so every traveler has a window or aisle seat. The aircraft also offer 36 inches of seat pitch, a flight attendant, a lavatory, and snack and beverage service—a comfortable jet experience on a short Caribbean hop.

The new route is more than another destination on the departure board. It strengthens regional connectivity and makes travel between Caribbean islands easier and more accessible.

With nonstop passenger service to more than 40 destinations across the Caribbean, North America, and Europe, PJIA continues to serve as a key gateway linking St. Maarten to the world—and the world to the region.
