PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – The Court of First Instance on Wednesday, September 16, was to sit to consider the criminal case involving the alleged ill-treatment and unlawful deprivation of liberty of an employee.
One of the suspects was scheduled to appear in Court. The case had been postponed in July with the expectation that proceedings could continue in mid-September.
However, several witnesses must first be interviewed by the investigating judge. Due to scheduling constraints, these interviews are planned for November. The Court therefore postponed the case without setting a new hearing date.
Proceedings will continue after the witness interviews have taken place.
