Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident

KPSM just received information that the rider have passed away at the SMMC

SINT MAARTEN — The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) is investigating a single-vehicle traffic accident that occurred on Friday, September 4, 2026, at approximately 10:55 a.m. on the Octavius L. Richardson Road.

The accident involved a Kawasaki Z650 motorcycle bearing license plate MF 1397.

Preliminary information indicates that the motorcyclist was travelling along the Octavius L. Richardson Road from the direction of the One Tete Lohke Roundabout toward Divi Little Bay Road. For reasons that are currently unclear, the rider entered the right roadside area and subsequently collided with the guardrail with the front of the motorcycle.

As a result of the impact, the rider was thrown onto the roadway and sustained serious injuries.

When police officers arrived at the scene, the rider was found to be unresponsive. Emergency medical personnel attended to the victim, who was subsequently transported by ambulance to the Sint Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) for further medical treatment.

The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation. KPSM urges all motorists and other road users to exercise caution and remain attentive while driving.
