ORANJESTAD – The Caribbean Netherlands Police Force (KPCN) is introducing a new community police officer on Sint Eustatius. Rexcarlos Courtar is the new community police officer for Sint Eustatius. Courtar has worked with the police for 17 years and spent almost 3 years serving as a community police officer on Saba. During this period, he dedicated himself to the safety and quality of life on the island and worked closely with residents and local partners.
With his transfer to Sint Eustatius, Courtar is returning to his home island. Here, he will use his experience as a community police officer and focus on working together with residents, businesses, schools, and other partners on the island.
Courtar will take over the duties of Franciscus Nous, who was the community officer for the past few years. He takes on his new role with enthusiasm and looks forward to working together with the community and partners to help keep Sint Eustatius safe.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed working on Saba over the past few years and I am very grateful to the community, partners, and colleagues there for the pleasant cooperation. At the same time, it is an honor to return home. I look forward to using my experience for my island and working together to create a safe and pleasant living environment. I want to build strong working relationships with our partners so that, together, we can continue moving Sint Eustatius forward,” said Courtar.
Meet the community police officer
In the coming period, Courtar will actively introduce himself to the community and local partners on Sint Eustatius. Residents can contact the community police officer regarding non-emergency matters, questions about safety in their area, or to share information that may contribute to safety on the island.
