ORANJESTAD, ARUBA – The Ombudsman, Ms. Jurima Bryson, LL.M. is bringing the services of the Office of the Ombudsman closer to residents through the campaign ‘Ombudsman in the neighborhood’. With this campaign, the Ombudsman wants to be more visible and accessible in the neighborhoods.

The Ombudsman closer to the neighborhood resident

By being present in different neighborhoods, the Ombudsman wants to lower the threshold. This gives residents the opportunity to file a complaint and obtain more information about the Ombudsman’s services.

With ‘Ombudsman in the neighborhood’, the Ombudsman wants to listen to residents’ questions and better understand concerns that exist in the neighborhoods. Personal contact plays an important role in this process.

Everyone should have the opportunity to receive independent advice and information when they have a complaint about an institution according to the law.

Practical information

Employees of the Office of the Ombudsman will also be present to speak with neighborhood residents and give them the opportunity to file a complaint directly.
