Firearm seized during controls in St. Peters

SINT MAARTEN — On Sunday, October 4, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., KPSM Flex – Team was conducting preventative controls and searches in the St. Peters area as part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and combat the possession of illegal firearms.

During the controls, officers stopped and searched several individuals. During one of these searches, a Glock firearm was discovered in the possession of a male suspect.

The firearm was found to be loaded and ready for use. Officers immediately seized the firearm, and the male suspect was arrested and transported to the police headquarters in Philipsburg, where he was processed and is being questioned in connection with this ongoing investigation.

The Police Force of Sint Maarten continues to encourage members of the public to cooperate with preventative controls and to report any information regarding illegal firearms or other criminal activity to the authorities.
