SINT EUSTATIUS — In the afternoon of Wednesday, the 16th of September, a planned traffic control was held on the Dr. H.A. Korthalsweg on Sint Eustatius. During the control, a total of seven vehicles were checked. Five drivers received a fine.

The fines were issued for the following violations:

4x for not wearing a seatbelt;

1x for driving without having paid road tax.

The Caribbean Netherlands Police Force (KPCN) reminds everyone that, in accordance with Article 82, Paragraph 1, Sub F of the Sint Eustatius Road Traffic Ordinance 2022 (Wegenverkeersverordening Sint Eustatius 2022), both the driver and passengers of a motor vehicle are required to wear a seatbelt.

The police will continue to conduct traffic checks to enforce compliance with traffic regulations.
