Traffic controls on St. Eustatius
Sint Eustatius — On Saturday, the 26th of September, police conducted a traffic control on Father Van Tefelenweg on St. Eustatius. During the control, a total of 11 vehicles were checked, resulting in two fines being issued. The fines were for failure to wear a seatbelt and driving without valid insurance.
On Friday, the 25th of September, police conducted a traffic control on Oranjebaaiweg on St. Eustatius. During this control, six vehicles were checked. The documents of all drivers was in order.

Arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol
Sint Eustatius — On Friday, the 25th of September, at around 18:15 PM, a 57-year-old man with initials R.A.W. was arrested on Seagrape Road on St. Eusutaius for driving under the influence of alcohol. The suspect was involved in a collision between two cars.
In accordance with the ‘botsen is blazen’ policy, a breathalyzer test was administered to both drivers. After multiple attempts, the suspect failed to successfully complete the test.
He was transported to the police station, where he also failed to blow correctly for the breath analysis. Additionally, he was fined for driving without a driver’s license and without insurance.
