St. Maarten Flavors Showcases Unique Culinary Experiences by participating restaurants

Philipsburg, St. Maarten – St. Maarten Flavors continues to celebrate the island’s diverse culinary scene through a series of unique food and beverage experiences hosted by participating restaurants and culinary businesses throughout the month of June.

While the platform’s signature dishes and exclusive menu offerings remain a key attraction, the Experiences component of St. Maarten Flavors invites residents and visitors alike to engage with the island’s culinary culture in new and interactive ways.

From hands-on cooking classes and rum blending workshops to wine-inspired social gatherings and tasting experiences, participating businesses have embraced the opportunity to showcase their creativity while offering guests memorable ways to connect through food and drink.

At Creole Culinary Classroom, guests rolled up their sleeves during the popular Sip & Cook sessions that took place on June 19, 20 and 27. Combining Caribbean cooking with refreshing beverages, participants are guided through the preparation of local dishes while learning about island ingredients, techniques, and culinary traditions in a fun and social environment.

Rum enthusiasts can discover the art of blending at The Rumhuys, where guests are invited to craft their own personalized bottle of rum. By combining different flavors, fruits, and spices, participants create a unique keepsake that reflects their personal taste while learning more about one of the Caribbean’s most iconic spirits.

At Topper’s Restaurant & Bar, visitors can indulge in A Flavorful Hour of Rum and Island Cuisine, an immersive tasting experience featuring Topper’s award-winning rums paired with chef-crafted bites, rum cake, gelato, and signature island cocktails. Available daily throughout June at a special St. Maarten Flavors rate, the experience offers guests a deeper appreciation of the flavors that have made Caribbean rum famous around the world.

For those seeking a more relaxed social atmosphere, Balls & Wine has introduced its Spritz Sessions, a month-long celebration of the Italian aperitivo tradition. Guests can sample a variety of refreshing spritz creations, pair them with tapas, and enjoy a special four-for-three promotion designed to encourage sharing and discovery among friends.

Meanwhile, Lazy Lizard invites diners to enjoy casual Caribbean dining in a laid-back waterfront setting three evenings each week, complete with complimentary transportation options for certain resort guests and convenient parking reservations for local visitors.

Sports fans can combine culinary enjoyment with international competition at Catch 21, where World Cup matches are paired with special game-day promotions. Guests receive a complimentary cocktail while watching the match, and every goal scored is celebrated with a complimentary shot for everyone in the restaurant, creating a lively and interactive viewing experience.

“One of the objectives of St. Maarten Flavors is to encourage culinary businesses to think beyond the traditional dining experience,” said Michele Korteweg on behalf of the St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association. “These events allow guests to interact with chefs, learn new skills, discover local products, and create lasting memories while experiencing the incredible diversity of our culinary community.”
