Today (Tuesday December 9, 2025), State Secretary Eddie van Marum opened the conference ‘Fifteen years after 10/10/10’ in Nieuwspoort, The Hague. “It is a special moment to reflect together on what the political reforms have meant for our Kingdom and what residents notice in their daily lives.”
In his work he sees how important it is that everyone is heard. “Whether you live in Groningen or in Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius or Saba: distance should never mean that you have to wait longer for progress.”
Today the State Secretary is speaking about opportunities for entrepreneurs, food security, affordable energy, financial stability and social security. “And we take an honest look at where things need to be improved, together with administrators, entrepreneurs and scientists.”
“This conference shows how strong it is when we continue to seek each other out and stick to one principle: putting residents first. We will continue to work towards this together,” says van Marum.
