Notorious killer ‘Cuchi’ gets another life sentence

Kathron Fortune

FRANCE — Notorious killer Kathron “Cuchi” Fortune was sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment by a French court last week. Cuchi, who committed his heinous killings on the island of Sint Maarten/Saint Martin is already serving a life sentence in a Dutch prison.

The trial in France, which closed the 9th session of the Basse-Terre Assize Court, was a dramatic story, one that saw the atrocious ordeal of Angélique and her death in 2006 in Saint Martin.

Angélique, a young woman from Maine-et-Loire was raped and murdered in 2006 in Saint Martin.

While investigating the gendarmes painted a portrait of the murderer: “Cuchi” as he is known. Kathron Fortuné, born in Grenada, is a robber, assassin, and serial murderer, who is suspected of more than 20 murders.

Cuchi’s place in the courtroom was empty at the Basse-Terre Assize Court, as the “colossal murderer” is in prison for life in the Netherlands. The Dutch Kingdom refused to extradite Cuchi to France to stand trial there for his extreme violence.
