Meeting the Sint Maarten Bankers Association at the premises of the CBCS in Philipsburg

 

Willemstad/PhilipsburgMrs. Raquel Lo Fo Wong, who was appointed as director of the Central Bank of Curacao & Sint Maarten (CBCS) office in Sint Maarten on March 1, 2019, recently held several introductory meetings with stakeholders and strategic partners. The Board of Directors of the CBCS, Mrs. Leila Matroos-Lasten and Mr. José Jardim, introduced Mrs. Lo Fo Wong to Mr. Eugene Holiday, Governor of Sint Maarten, and Mr. Perry Geerlings, minister of Finance.

Together, they also met with the Sint Maarten Bankers Association at the premises of the CBCS in Philipsburg. More introductory visits as well as regular meetings are scheduled, as part of the CBCS’ new strategy.

Mrs. Lo Fo Wong took over management from Mrs. Linda Hassell who, after years of service in the banking sector, was appointed as branch manager in the year 2005. At that time, she was the first female in a leadership position with the CBCS in Sint Maarten.

Mrs. Hassell will hold the position of financial manager until her retirement.
