In November 2017, I posted on Facebook that I was looking for children’s clothes and other stuff for kids between 0-14. I got a lot of good reactions from my FB friends, who took the opportunity to clean out their kids’ closets. In October, I had one empty barrel, and in no time I filled that barrel. The kids’ stuff was coming in every day in big bags and suitcases. I proceeded to purchase different barrels and I also got some as donation from people, who had them at home and weren’t using them.

It was a concern of different folks as to why I was sending the clothes abroad and not sharing it locally. Others were a little concerned that these clothes could fall into the hands of dishonest people and it would not reach to the kids who were in dire need of them. I took all of those concerns into account, and to make sure that you, who put your trust in me, were assured that the clothes would reach to who needed them, I took some days off in January and visited Dominican Republic myself.

“Hebrews 13:16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

After having some of my contacts in the Dominican Republic gather some information on orphanages and churches, who deal with orphan kids, and without telling them exactly what were my plans, I got the contact information of those places. Then I myself, went to the Dominican Republic where I did my own service and visited a few places to scout which organizations I would work with and where exactly I would be sending the stuff them.

This was to guarantee that they would reach the children who really needed them and to free the mind of those who expressed themselves on FB about their concerns of my operation.

QUOTE: “We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.” – Ronald Reagan

I have to say that beside my Facebook Friends who contributed to my call and my intentions, some FBF, who are business owners and members of the Indian Merchants Association, also contributed by donating some clothing. Other Business Facebook Friends contributed with some items and barrels, and I have to say my largest contributors was you all, my Facebook friends… you know who you are.

You contributed by donating, kids clothing, toys, educational books, and baby food, pampers and other baby and adult stuff.

When I left to DR, I went with about 4 suitcases, which I delivered to different people, who I knew were in need of some babies, toddlers, and youngster clothing. So I went with them in advance. These were already delivered to those families. In February, I shipped a crib that was purchased by myself via one of the FB buy-sell pages, and a baby stroller that was donated to a couple I met. I knew they needed these items as the wife was about to deliver their baby.

I decided that all shipping costs of these barrels and loose stuff would fall under my responsibility. Just for your information each barrel, big or small, cost $150 to be shipped. Loose cargos are $75 per pcs. After I arrived back in SXM (in January 2018), I took the time to close the barrels and get everything ready to be shipped.

I gathered 9 barrels, 2 suitcases and two wheelchair with a total cost of $1350 for shipping. All payment that took place in this operation was paid by 721news website (your most reliable news website) advertisement section.

Everything started on my return from the Dominican Republic back in October 2017, when a spiritual inspiration came to me to gather children’s clothing for the poor and needy. With the help of you all, my Facebook Friends, today we have helped make this spiritual inspiration come true.

Together we have put a smile and will put a smile on a complete stranger’s face, someone who is in need.

When someone is praying for the Lord’s help, he listens. It is a fact that the Lord said, where one or more is praying, he listen and who ask shall receive. I will ask him to share my blessings with you all, who provided and may the blessing of this operation touch all kids involved. May your seeds be multiplied in Jesus’ name.

“Proverbs 19:17 The one who is gracious to the poor lends to the LORD, and the LORD will repay him for his good deed.”

I can say that you know you have touched a stranger’s heart that is located miles away from you.  Always remember we all were not born equal or with the equal rights. Some were born in less privileged situations than us on this little island cannot imagine.

Through the spiritual powers, we can still help. This is the reason why I encourage you, not only to pray for your families, but include your prayers to the stranger who is alone, praying to the Lord for some help. You can consider that your contribution will make a stranger happy.

The Lord will bless all who took part in this spiritual operation. I consider that as: “One Community Looking Out For Another Community.”

“Psalm 41:1-3 For the choir director: A psalm of David. Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The LORD rescues them when they are in trouble. The LORD protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies. The LORD nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.”

I conclude with this message:
BLESSED BE THE HANDS THAT PROVIDE FOR THE POOR AND NEEDY. IN JESUS’ NAME. AMEN!

Proverbs 31:20 (ESV) “She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.”
