Saint KItts — Journalist and broadcaster Andre Huie received two nominations at the 2018 Antigua and Barbuda Gospel Music and Media Awards (ABGMA) for his gospel music radio show The JIFE Music Show. The JIFE Music Show is the official radio show of the JIFE Music Record Label, of which Huie is a co-owner. The show has been nominated in the Best Radio Show (inspirational category) and Best Radio Show (entertainment category).
In the inspirational category, the show is nominated along with What’s on Your Mind on So Arise Radio hosted by Apostle R.J.P., Power of Praise aired on Abundant Life Radio by DJ Bless, The Gospel Train on ABS Radio and the William Dorsette Show on God First Radio hosted by William Dorsette. In the entertainment category the show is nominated among Power of Praise with DJ Bless from Antigua and Gospel Takeover Show by DJ Don in the Bahamas.
“I am very humbled and happy with these nominations. Regardless of the outcome at the awards ceremony, the recognition shows the impact of the JIFE Music Show and encourages me to keep on producing it,” Huie said. “Thanks to the ABGMA team, the JIFE Music camp and all those artists who have been featured on the show over the years and I am looking forward to the awards ceremony on April 21st,” Huie added.
The JIFE Music show is produced by Huie for Voice of the Caribbean Radio, a division of Palm Branch Media, the parent company of both the radio station and JIFE Music. Palm Branch Media is co-owned by Lester Henry, Andre Huie, Roy Nisbett and Jermaine Willock. The show airs once a week and is syndicated on Best In Christian Music Radio in Queens, New York, Voice of St. Maarten radio in St. Maarten, Voice of the Caribbean Radio (www.voiceofthecaribbean.net) and So Arise Radio in Antigua and Barbuda.
The show is one hour in length and features music, an inspirational section known as Soul Food and interviews with artists not only from JIFE Music but other artists from around the Caribbean. The Antigua and Barbuda Gospel Music and Media Awards will be held on Saturday April 21st at 5:30pm at the Presidential Suite of the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in St. John’s, Antigua.
