Caribbean (Eye4weather) A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of St. Maarten/St. Martin & St. Barths this morning (@11:12am).
Although preliminary reports indicated it was a 5.5-magnitude ‘quake, after expert-analysis…it was reviewed at 5.2

It’s epicenter was located at 18.1°N 62.8°W or about 14 miles (23 km) East of Philipsburg, St. Maarten or 17 miles (27 km) East of Marigot, St. Martin or about 12 miles (20 km) North of Gustavia, St. Barths.

This intermediate ‘quake was reportedly felt in various neighboring islands, including: St. Maarten/St. Martin, St. Eustatius, and St. Kitts.

The quake startled some residents, but there were no reports of damage or injury.

There was/is NO threat of a tsunami.
