New Year’s Eve: Mariah, JLo, Snoop Dogg entertain

Merry Christmas, and let’s look to the next big holiday just days away.

If you’re ushering in 2017 with TV’s help Saturday, you have choices.

The granddaddy of these programs is “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2017.” It’s marking its 45th anniversary — hard to believe — at 8 p.m. on ABC. Performances go for 5 and a half hours. In Times Square, Seacrest is joined by Jenny McCarthy, Mariah Carey, DNCE, Thomas Rhett and Gloria Estefan with the Broadway cast of “On Your Feet!”

The telecast will switch to Lionel Richie in Las Vegas, Demi Lovato in St. Maarten and Jason Derulo and Panic! at the Disco in New Orleans. Fergie hosts the Hollywood portion, which features Alessia Cara, Fifth Harmony, Flo Rida, G-Eazy, Martin Garrix, Niall Horan, John Legend, Lukas Graham, Shawn Mendes, Mike Posner and Hailee Steinfeld.

“NBC’s New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly” starts at 11:30 p.m. in Times Square. Daly and Mel B host. Alicia Keys, Pentatonix and Blake Shelton will sing, and Jennifer Lopez performs in Las Vegas. There’s a Telemundo simulcast in Spanish.

In St. Maarten on December 28th, when the sun goes down, the fun comes up!

Four stunning ships. One breathtaking island. One day only. It’s the biggest thing to hit the beach this holiday season. Our first-ever Concert Series kicks off with one of the brightest stars in music today, Demi Lovato.
It’s a concert you won’t want to miss, and it’s available to Celebrity guests only. You’ll have access to a special venue where Demi will perform some of her biggest hits.

The party starts early on NBC as Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb host “A Toast to 2016!” at 8 p.m. The two-hour special features Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Bublé, Simone Biles and Dana Carvey.

At 10, NBC presents “Late Night with Seth Meyers New Year’s Eve Special.” The guest list: Schwarzenegger, Jennifer Lawrence, Leslie Jones and Kelly Clarkson, who sings “It’s Quiet Uptown” from “Hamilton.”

On Fox, Queen Latifah and Snoop Dogg host “Pitbull’s New Year’s Revolution” at 11 p.m. from Miami’s Bayfront Park. Performing will be Nelly, Biz Markie, Coolio, Naughty By Nature, Rob Base, Salt-N-Pepa, Tone Loc and Young MC.

On CNN, Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin will be in Times Square to mark their 10th year as co-hosts of “New Year’s Eve Live” from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Then Don Lemon and Brooke Baldwin host from New Orleans. Also on tap: Richard Quest in Times Square, Gary Tuchman at Miami Beach’s Fontainebleau Hotel and Randi Kaye on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.

Fox News Channel goes from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eric Bolling and Kimberly Guilfoyle will host “All-American New Year” starting at 11.

On PBS, “Live From Lincoln Center” presents the New York Philharmonic performing Broadway classics at 8 p.m. (check local listings). Opera star Joyce DiDonato and Tony winner Paulo Szot perform in the program billed as “Enchanted Evening.” Mo Rocca of “CBS Sunday Morning” hosts. The song selections come from “My Fair Lady,” “The Sound of Music” and “Carousel.” The Philharmonic also performs Aaron Copland’s “Rodeo” and Johann Strauss’ “On the Beautiful Blue Danube.”
