PHILIPSBURG – The highly anticipated show Soca Rumble, which complements the annual carnival schedule started registration today, Monday, October 31. Forms can be found on Soca Rumble Facebook page or via email info@montagenv.com. Deadline is November 30.
For the selection process, songs should be submitted and the top ten in each category will be chosen. Once selected, the top songs will be promoted via local media and social media.
Contestants are allowed to submit more than one song, and in both categories. However, this does not guarantee that the participant will perform in both categories.
There will only be 10 performances in each category, in addition to the two defending monarch kings. For band renditions/submissions, the lead singer will have to sing the song with the backup band. There will be no band change overs.
Power Monarch King and Groovy Monarch King will each receive a cash prize of $10,000.
First runner-up from each segment will receive a cash price of $4,000. Second runner-up from each segment will receive a cash price of $1,000 (new addition).
The show just keeps getting bigger and better. Prizes keep expanding, and musically the artist just keeps bringing a higher caliber of performances.
