COLEBAY – On October 5, a female who was speeding in her car Hyundai I10 P-6378 on Welfare Road heading towards Daily Extra, lost control of the vehicle resulting in her slamming first into the wall across the entrance to Cape Bay.

Upon impact, the car careened out of control, and slammed into the fence front of a warehouse across the supermarket. The impact caused her car to spin across the road, and slam into a wall on the parking lot of the former Afoo Daily Extra in Cole Bay.

The driver sustained minor cuts to her left arm, and the passenger was completely disoriented.

721news was at the scene of the accident, and at that point the driver refused medical help. However, an ambulance was still summoned to the scene and she and the female passenger received medical treatment.

721news obtained exclusive CCTV footage of the accident, where it clearly shows the moment the driver lost control and smashed into the wall of the supermarket.

Two weeks after the accident, neither the driver nor Traffic Police showed up to talk to the owners whose property was damaged.

At the scene, police patrol never called the Traffic Department or CARS, which is a company that represents most insured vehicles on the island in case of an accident. The driver was allowed to accompany her car, which had been put on a tow truck.

At least one of the owners of the damaged properties is requesting that the young lady report to them to discuss repairing the damage.
